Have you ever wondered how designer’s go about designing? I do too… š
I am all over the place when designing a kit. But the first step is always the same: inspiration hits. Daily life or Pinterest usually spark my imagination: often I see something on the street and my standard-reflex-question is: “hmmm, could I possibly scrapbook that?” Once an idea has formed (like: “ooooh, pretty spring flowers I just drove past on my bike… They would makeĀ an awesome scrapbook kit”) I do a quick google search or spend way too much time on Pinterest. Sometimes I make a secret board (yes, I keep things secret from you – not much – but there has to be an element of surprise somewhere, right?), but most of the times I chuck everything into Evernote. In a few eveningsĀ I will have my inspiration bundled in those two places (Pinterest and Evernote).Ā This time I did something a little different: I made a moodboard. I collected some ofĀ the pretty pictures I dragged in Evernote and combined them in Photoshop with the color palette I knew I wanted to use. This is how it turned out:
I love to have all my inspiration in one place now! I may do this more often. Every time I feel a little uninspired, I look at this and it instantly sparks my creativity.Ā Can you guess what inspired this kit?
I’ll be back soon to let you in on the rest of my designer process. So stay tuned!
I love your mood board soooo much! I love the colors and the theme and the palette is absolutely stunning. I’m so excited for this kit I can hardly stand it!
